Mrs. Minerva Gardner, who would have been 87 years old Saturday died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. William Blackwell of south Indiana street, Tuesday afternoon at 4 o’clock following a paralytic stroke. She was the last of a large family. Mrs. Gardner spent her entire life with the exception of 18 months in Putnam County near Manhattan. She has been a member of the Manhattan Christian Church for many years. The survivors are two daughters, Mrs. William Blackwell and Mrs. Dora Cherry of Greencastle and four sons Joe Gardner of Princeton; Elisha Gardner of Manhattan and John Hotten of Lawrence by a former marriage (note only three mentioned) and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. The funeral will be Thursday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Christian Church of Manhattan.  Burial will be in the Manhattan cemetery. Mrs. Grace Pollom will be in charge of the funeral services.

The will of Minerva Gardner, aged Greencastle woman who died recently was admitted to probate in the Putman Circuit Court this morning. Eloise Walker, a granddaughter was named executorix.  The will disposes of an estate valued at $1000 consisting of real estate worth $900 and personal property value at $100.  Heirs are four sons: John D. Hooten; Joe E. Gardner; Elza Gardner and George Gardner and two daughters, Fena Blackwell and Dora Cherry. -kbz
